Adult Classes

Dixie Lee: Senior Adult Women
A truly welcoming senior female adult class that is very active in the community. The Dixie Lee class is very committed to serving here at Berea Baptist Church. They provide funds for various ministries in our church and community. They volunteer for Vacation Bible School and Habitat for Humanity. They make weekly visits to the Berea Health Care Center. Join them for a place of service.

Sunshine: Senior Adult Women
The Sunshine Class is a caring, loving and supportive family for older women. Many members of the class have been attending for forty years or more. These ladies welcome new members and make them a part of their family.

Philathea: Senior Adult Women
The Philathea Sunday School class is a ladies class with no age limit. Although most ladies who attend are between 60-75+, they welcome women of all ages. Their class is dedicated to studying the Word, applying it to their daily lives, participating in a variety of missions, and fellowshipping with each other. They have a very lively participation with drama, role playing, and a little lecturing. The learning atmosphere is excellent. They have lots of fun studying and sharing!

Baraca: Senior Adult Men
A lively group of some actively participating men (ages 35 to heaven!) that are always ready to welcome guests.

College
This class is open to any college student that is attending any college. It meets at The Basin behind the Education Building.




Pearl: Women 40 – 70+
The Pearl class is a diverse, loving, open, supportive, giving, and mission-minded group of women for all ages. It is characterized by in-depth Bible study with lively, honest (often humorous) discussion.

Abraham & Sarah: Couples 50+
A small group Bible study for couples 50+. This fellowship provides a support to each other in good times and in times of trouble. We work together in ministries of the church and community to meet needs and share Jesus’ love.

Emmaus: Couples 45 – 65+
A fellowship made up of married folk in the mid 50’s and 60’s. Most of them have kids. Some have grandkids. They love the Lord and they love each other, but mostly they love to tell others about God’s love. They prepare themselves for that by studying God’s word with team teaching, discussion groups, sign language, personal testimonies, and lots of prayer.

Genesis: Men 40-60
This is a class for men in the 40 something and up range. They use the Bible as their main focus. They also use other books to provide and emphasize biblical direction like C. S. Lewis and others. Sometimes the class focuses on areas like the apostles, miracles, and the 10 Commandments.

Lighthouse: Couples and Singles 30 – 55
This is a mixed class for couples and singles ages 30 – 55. The class participates in group discussion and study of various books of the Bible. They emphasize building relationships with God and one another as well as insight and practical application for daily Christian living.

Young Couples: Couple 30 – 50
The young couples class is for married and engaged couples with at least one partner aged 20 – 30 years old. Topics of study focus primarily on building strong marriages and individual spiritual growth. In addition to weekly Sunday School, occasional social events are planned for further fellowship.




Cornerstone: Couples and Singles 40 – 55+
This class is for couples and singles 40 – 55+. The study God’s word and apply His teachings to everyday issues. They are committed to ministry within the class, the church and outreach. They enjoy getting together for fellowships. Annually they choose a special study where other class members become involved in teaching.

New Life: Couples and Singles 30 – 55
This class is made up of mostly couples and singles with children from infants to teens to college age. They welcome everyone and fellowship on Sunday mornings with plenty of coffee, lots of encouragement, and prayer with one another. An important part of this class is other ministries in and around our community.

Open Door: Adults Ages 18 – 118
The Open Door class welcomes adults of all ages to join them as they study from the Explore the Bible Sunday School literature which is a verse-by-verse discussion with commentary helps.

Jerusalem: Co-ed Singles 20+
An exciting opportunity for spiritual growth, deepening relationships and mutual respect. The Jerusalem class brings alive the promise of koinonia. Their mission involves Bible study, fellowship in a loving community and missions outreach in a supportive environment. This class is for singles ages 20 and up.
